The addition of what EA refers to as "fieldsense" promises to give players more control than they have ever had, utilizing the same animation updates as mentioned earlier to Madden 23 Coins let you know what to expect from plays according to how your opponent's movements. It's an excellent idea in theory. I've come across a couple of games that came down to an exquisite juke which only performed because I was able to anticipate the cornerback on the other side moving toward one direction or the other.

Like I said before, however, most of this Madden 23 beta is in mess. Many crashes have plagued me over the last week of playing, even getting as bad as throwing me back on my dashboard during three consecutive games. But, obviously, do not expect the finished product to launch like this. Although, an e-mail from Madden's subreddit indicates that this might not be the situation.

However, the problems did not end there. If things were going well, I was startled to hear the same audio glitches as I had. Too often, the commentators made mistakes such as making the wrong call or giving the wrong score. The problem got so severe that in a game between the Rams along with the Patriots, Charles Davis started exclaiming about how well the Commanders were playing. No, he was not talking about some real-time game behind the scenes.

I know that we're about two months away from our release. I also understand that - even more important - this is not a beta at all. But early impressions have me a bit sceptical.

When EA Sports hopes to again enjoy the acclaim of their loyal fans, Madden NFL 23 will need a ton of work before it is released in August. Long gone are the days of subtle improvements being enough. Every year the fans put down their hard-earned money for something that doesn't feel like a clone of previous iterations.
