i receive a talktalk hg533 modem from uk, am in jamaica and trying to make it connect wit my adsl and it wont let mi ANYONE KNOW TO?

Is FairPoint your ISP? I don't think they service Jamaica.
You should have received a modem from your new ISP. If you are trying to use your existing modem from the UK need to speak to your new ISP to obtain network settings for their location.
I did a quick search and it is not clear if Jamaica uses UK mains voltage and plugs.

I'm thinking you might be in the wrong neck of the woods...BUt I would look into what was said, Voltage might be off (as the line voltage for the phone as well).
