A Mega Millions ticket, sold on Tuesday, November 3, fell just one number short number shy of being an overall jackpot winner, a spokesperson for the S.C. Election Lottery said.

The $30,000 ticket was sold at Cross Food Mart on Old Highway 6.

The ticket matched four white ball numbers the Megaball number. The odds of doing so were 1 in 931,001. The player spent an extra $1 which multiplied the prize to $30,000.

The winning numbers for the Tuesday, November 3 Mega Millions drawing were 7, 31, 44, 45, 55 and the Megaball was 19.

The jackpot for Friday night’s drawing is now an estimated $142 million.

Net proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
