2021 NFL Coaching Carousel Tracker: Updates, latest rumors and news on firings and hires

With the end of the NFL season upon us, that Madden 21 coins means the league's yearly coaching purge is all about to kick into high gear. When the year kicked off in September, there were 32 head coaches roaming the sidelines around the NFL, but not every one of these men will be arriving in 2021.

As a matter of factwe already know three coaches who definitely won't be returning and that is Bill O'Brien, Dan Quinn and Matt Patricia, who got axed throughout the season. Three in-season firings has been the maximum amount the NFL has seen since 2010 when four trainers got let go.

Heading into the 2021 offseason, there might be as many as six teams trying to find a new trainer and that number could jump even higher if we view any shock moves. We are going to be monitoring all the latest information as teams begin their hunt for the ideal coach. O'Brien was the first coach to be fired this season and that move came all the way back in October when the Texans chose to give him a pink slip after an 0-4 start that included losses to the Chiefs, Steelers and Ravens. Ever since that time, the Texans have hired a search firm to assist them find their new trainer. According to ESPN.com, the research firm has advocated Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as someone Houston should look at hiring. It's also believed that Houston will have its attention on Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. Though the Texans haven't formally interviewed both of those candidates, they have conducted at least two interviews and those arrived with former NFL head coaches Marvin Lewis and Jim Caldwell. The Texans also have an open GM job along with the belief is that they'll fill that buy Mut 21 coins role before selecting a new coach.
