It hit home for Willig, who played college ball with Junior Seau and Scott Ross -- neither of whom reached their 46th birthday. Seau shot himself in the chest; Ross, part of the concussion lawsuit against the NFL, was found dead in a car. Autopsies later discovered they suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).Green Bay Packers

The Lions surrendered 519 points this past season – the second-highest single-season total in NFL history and just 14 points fewer than the dubious record-holders in the 1981 then-Baltimore Colts (533). Detroit allowed a league-worst 419.8 yards per game and a disturbing 65 offensive touchdowns – the most via the ground (27) and through the air (38) in 2020.

The Bears' offense without Robinson, 27, looks pretty grim, which makes tagging the wide receiver, who caught 120 passes for 1,250 yards and six touchdowns last season, a strong possibility. Chicago is also prioritizing finding the quarterback who would be throwing Robinson passes and ultimately could determine whether the receiver would want to sign a long-term deal if tagged. The cost of tagging Robinson is $16.4 million. The Bears are already in a tight predicament with the salary cap, so they'll need to create space by restructuring contracts or releasing expensive veterans (e.g. Jimmy Graham). It's also wise not to rule out a tag-and-trade scenario for Robinson depending on how things play out for Chicago in free agency.

It's also worth noting that the free-agent quarterback crop isn't exactly strong. And while the 2021 NFL Draft class has five potential first-round picks at QB, the Patriots may not be positioned to land any of them without trading up. As such, they might not want to take a chance and wait until April to target an unproven quarterback.Los Angeles Rams

As the NFL Draft rapidly approaches, every team will be looking for the next great quarterback. Franchises live or die by the way the pocket passer performs under pressure. If the quarterback is the problem, the team is likely going to be sitting in dead water.
