in Mérida and discover the natural riches they offer you.
Living in Yucatán is a privilege. Notonly for the tranquility of living in the safest state in the country ,but also for the unimaginable amount of natural wealth found in it. One of
the many advantages of living in Mérida, the capital, is the proximity to the
beautiful beaches that line the Yucatecan coasts
Thanks to its proximity, it is very commonfor an inhabitant of the city to go to the port at dawn from Mérida to
buy  fresh fish  or even get on a boat and gofishing. Of the 340 kilometers of coastline that the beautiful state of
Yucatán has, these are 5 beaches near Mérida:

This is the most important port in Yucatanand one of the main in Mexico. It is 36 kilometers from Mérida (just 20
minutes away) and it is the preferred beach of Yucatecan families and nationaland international tourists (who arrive on cruise ships) to spend theafternoon or the weekend.  Sit down to eat fresh fish on the shore of the
beach or stroll along the boardwalk where you can buy handicraftssuch as hammocks and embroidery. It is a perfect option to spend an

This beautiful beach is located in themunicipality of Hunucmá, 53 km northwest of Mérida. It is a fishing port
with history, culture and natural wealth.
Live the tranquility of this port enjoyingthe sea breeze while you sway in a Yucatecan hammock . Itis ideal to rest and get away from everyday life, as it has little tourist
traffic.

It is an incredible experience to visitthis picturesque town to the west of Progreso, here you will find small rustic
but comfortable hotels. Without having the title of Magic Town, it could
well be, since both its church, the local market and the large number of
restaurants and food stalls are located in buildings of colonialarchitecture and will allow you to walk through its streets afterspending the day on the beach.
In addition to these, there are many otherbeaches in Yucatán that it offers us, always characterized by their cleanliness
and respect for nature on the part of their residents and visitors. Having
these beaches so close you can enter the world of aquatic recreation: fishing,
kitesurfing, diving and many other activities.
Living in Mérida will allow you to have the best of two worlds: acompleteand modern city, close to natural wonders that will become your favoriteplaces.
