Hello. Does anyone know a driving school in Latvia where I can do the theory classes online? I am living in Jūrmala and I’m afraid the driving schools over here could be very expensive because of the region.. So maybe there is some driving school where I can do the theory classes in English online, so I wouldn’t need to go to the Riga centre for that. I am working as a travel agent and I am working from home. That’s why I moved to Jūrmala as it is a very beautiful place. I got a cheap apartment here. Not too many extras but it makes me go outside more. The Baltic Sea is so clean! So I wouldn’t like to move back to Riga centre. Can anyone recommend a good B category car driving school who doesn’t cheat with the foreigners?

Hi. I haven’t tried many driving schools as I liked the first one which I chose - Presto driving school: presto.lv. I am also not living in Riga. I am living in a small and beautiful city called Ogre. Actually I didn’t find any other driving school in Ogre where they could teach in English. There was 1 more - ‘’Einšteins’’ but by their web page I didn’t understand whether they could provide me English driving lessons in Ogre. In Presto’s webpage everything was explained very clearly - you can see all the instructors and the languages they can teach in. I liked that they provide the cost calculator where you can see the approximate amount of money which You gonna need to spend. Everything depends on how many driving lessons You gonna need and your exam results in the main building - Road Traffic Safety Directorate which is the government’s administration for the new drivers on the block. The procedure to get a licence in Latvia is like this - first you do the theory classes, including first aid course which is usually provided by the driving school, then you have to do the school’s theory exam and then also the Road Traffic Safety Directorate’s theory exam. The same you have to do with driving. To add, there is also a government's rule that you have to take at least 10 (2x45 min) driving lessons with the school’s instructor. Then you see - whether you need to continue with the lessons or you can take the school’s driving exam. Then you need to get an approval from the driving instructor that you can do your main exam in CSDD. It may sound as a complicated and long journey but believe me, you can get the driver’s licence in 3 months! A good thing for the ones who want to save their time - you can read and sign the contract online as well! In my experience this driving school didn’t cheat with me. I took 12 driving lessons as my own choice and they let me do the school’s and the CSDD exam when I wanted.
