Wife had this number for around 40 years and when AT&T could do no more for us than continued 6.0 mbps for $51 a month and bare bones phone for $30 more, we ditched the phone altogether and went with Xfinity Performance 25 mbps for $19 plus $8 for the wireless gateway for a year then regular price $29.99 a month. AT&T made a half-hearted effort to keep us when we called to terminate service, including lying that for $19.99 all we would be getting is the same speed they provided. As if we wouldn't have already had the Xfinity installed and speed tested before we called them.

.... I don't see how your post is relevant to this forum (AT&T DSL).

Anyway, didn't you ask retention for any plans to make the internet bill lower?
(Also, you should have moved your number to Comcast when quitting AT&T.)

It's completely relevant to this forum. He is complaining about AT&T's offerings and stating what everyone stuck with DSL already knows. AT&T sucks!

how about you register for an account so we can take you seriously...

his and other folks like me who moved from AT&T to Comcast just proves how AT&T's offering sucks!

and I am pretty sure you could see more threads about this on this forum, just do a little search.

I already have an account here on BBR but due to my work banning the SSL certificates for logging into BBR's servers, I am unable to login.

Anyway, the reason why I said that this wasn't relevant to ATT DSL is that this could be considered as a rant.

I am well aware how Ma Bell's offering sucks however.
