New World Gets Review-Bombed on Steam After Recent Patch

Players frustrated with a recent patch for the Amazon-Games-developed New World have been review-bombing the game on Steam. Gamers rushed to play the new open-world MMORPG when it was first released in September. Despite the glitches in New World - such as limited servers, random gold dupes, and infinite damage - the game remains relatively popular, albeit with gradually decreasing numbers. To get more news about new world gold, you can visit spieltimes.com official website.

The update was originally featured in the New World Public Test Realm (PTR) program, a new feature that lets players explore unreleased game updates and content. The program is immensely helpful to developers as the players give feedback. With players' critiques in mind, developers can improve the updates and content prior to an official launch. Released last week, the newest patch includes new content and several bug fixes to the game. The update added a new weapon called the Void Gauntlet, new enemies, new PvP Faction Missions, and universally linked Trading Posts. Though not originally advertised as a main part of the patch, players have discovered one more new feature to New World's 1.1 update Into the Void.

As reported by Forbes, New World players are now review-bombing the game on Steam due to its newest patch increasing the game's difficulty. With the launch of the Into the Void update, Amazon Games significantly increased the levels of AI enemies in Elite zones or Endgame areas. As a result, those enemies are a lot more difficult to beat. Once players caught wind of the change in difficulty, Amazon addressed the issue by saying, "With new gear and equipment, we want players to be challenged." Though the patch offers new buffs, Amazon admits in the same blog post that there is an issue with the loot chests' drop rates. Increasing the difficulty of the game without adjusting the rewards for beating bosses have angered fans of the game, leading to the review bombing.

There has been a recent drop in New World's player count, and these negative reviews may further accelerate this outcome. Only weeks after its release, New World lost around two-thirds of its players, a significant dip for the MMORPG. Because this recent update was part of the Public Test Realm program, Amazon likely received player feedback on this aspect of the patch. However, the increase in difficulty has angered players and many resorted to giving feedback another way: by review-bombing the game on Steam.
