IMO-Singapore Future of Shipping Conference: Decarbonisation 2022


IMO and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore are jointly organizing the IMO-Singapore Future of Shipping Conference: Decarbonisation (FOSC) on 6 April 2022. FOSC 2022 aims to bring stakeholders together to identify possible solutions along the two pillars of “gaps” and “opportunities” in the maritime and energy value chains.Get more news about Singpaore Shipping,you can vist our website!

Panel discussions, addressing both “gaps” and “opportunities”, will allow for an exchange of views on international efforts needed to support the maritime industry to become greener and more resilient.

Presentations will address concrete steps to address the technology, policy or funding “gaps”, and concrete steps needed to materialize the potential of low and zero-carbon emission solutions through innovation, finance, collaboration, technology transfer, and capacity-building.
Event details: The IMO-Singapore Future of Shipping Conference: Decarbonisation will be a hybrid event (in-person attendees and online participants) held on Wednesday, 6 April 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (BST), as part of Singapore Maritime Week 2022.

Organisers: IMO and the Maritme and Port Authority of Singapore

Participation: The FOSC is open to all interested parties and addressed to maritime administrations, industry professionals, academia and organizations from the maritime community. The events will be conducted in English without interpretation.
The launch of the preparatory phase of the IMO’s Coordinated Actions to Reduce Emissions from Shipping (IMO CARES) Project. This will mark the start of this preparatory process that will aim to bring together stakeholders in global north and south to promote innovation, R&D collaboration, accelerate demonstration of green technologies and their global deployment in developing regions.

The launch of NextGEN Connect. This will bring different stakeholders together to offer solutions for inclusive maritime decarbonization, through addressing scenario-based problem statements derived from NextGEN stakeholders.
