To pair an Alexa Voice Remote with your Echo device:
Pull down the latch on the remote's battery door, and then pull the battery door away from the remote.
Insert the two AAA batteries (included) into the remote, then put the battery door back on. Make sure the batteries are in the correct position.
Open the Alexa app, go to the menu, and select Settings.
Select your Echo device, and then select Pair device remote.
Note: You may see a Forget Remote option instead. This means that a remote is already paired with your Echo device. If you're replacing your remote, select Forget Remote before you pair a new remote with your device.
Press and hold the Play/Pause button on the remote for five seconds and release.
