The monkeypox virus, the most dangerous orthpoxvirus with a complicated double stranded DNA, is responsible for the uncommon zoonosis known as monkeypox. The majority of the occurrences occur in central and western Africa. When monkeypox virus enters the body through the respiratory mucosa, it multiplies in lymphocytes before entering the blood and causing temporary venereal toxemia. After the virus replicates in cells, the cells can enter the blood and spread to the skin across the entire body, where they will eventually cause sores. Learn more: monkeypox peptides
