Avana 200 mg contains the active ingredient avanafil and is primarily used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. While avanafil is generally well-tolerated by most individuals, there are certain medical conditions in which the use of Avana 200 mg may be contraindicated or require caution. These include:

Cardiovascular diseases: Avana 200 mg should be used with caution or avoided in individuals with a history of heart disease, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, or recent heart attack. Avanafil can cause a temporary decrease in blood pressure, and combining it with certain heart medications or underlying cardiovascular conditions may increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular events.
Hypotension (low blood pressure): Avana 200 mg can cause a decrease in blood pressure, particularly when taken with other medications that lower blood pressure or with alcohol. Individuals with a history of hypotension or those taking medications known to lower blood pressure should use Avana 200 mg with caution.
Stroke: Avanafil may increase the risk of stroke or transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke), especially in individuals with a history of these conditions. It's essential to discuss the potential risks and benefits of using Avana 200 mg with a healthcare professional if you have a history of stroke or transient ischemic attack.
Liver or kidney impairment: Avana 200 mg should be used with caution in individuals with moderate to severe liver or kidney impairment. Avanafil is metabolized primarily by the liver, and impaired liver function can affect its metabolism and clearance from the body. Similarly, impaired kidney function may affect the elimination of avanafil and increase its concentration in the body, potentially leading to adverse effects.
Priapism: Avana 200 mg should be used cautiously in individuals with a history of priapism (prolonged erection lasting more than 4 hours) or conditions predisposing to priapism, such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia. Priapism is a medical emergency and requires immediate medical attention to prevent tissue damage to the penis.
Retinal disorders: Avanafil may increase the risk of vision-related side effects, including changes in color vision or sudden loss of vision, particularly in individuals with pre-existing retinal disorders such as retinitis pigmentosa. Use caution and discuss any vision changes with a healthcare professional.
It's important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting Avana 200 mg or any other medication for erectile dysfunction, especially if you have any underlying medical conditions or are taking other medications. Your healthcare provider can assess your medical history, conduct a thorough evaluation, and determine whether Avana 200 mg is safe and appropriate for you.
