The Minnesota Vikings have had quite an interesting 2024 offseason, especially when it comes to the NFL Draft. They selectedandin the first round while also adding some high-end talent in free agency. The intrigue here is with who they lost as well. and edge rusher Danielle Hunter were the biggest lo ses in free agency for the Vikings after the 2023 season and it set them up to potentially get two third-round Garrett Temple Jersey compensatory selections in the 2025 NFL Draft. With the the Monday after the NFL Draft, the Vikings were set to receive two third-round compensatory picks. The Vikings did make a signing that could cancel out the second third-round compensatory pick. When they signed cornerback Shaquil Griffin to a one-year contract, it likely cost the Vikings that selection. , who is the biggest expert Chris Chiozza Jersey when it comes to compensatory selections, broke down the Vikings' potential major flaw. The starkest example of this comes from Minnesota. The Vikings were expected to po sibly see two players, Kirk Cousins and Danielle Hunter, leave the team for top tier deals elsewhere, and that is what happened. The Vikings also lost several other CFAs, but were also aggre sive in signing CFAs of their own to offset some of those departures. Nonethele s, they had at least balanced this to where the 3rd rounders for both Cousins and Hunter leaving were on the board...until they signed Shaquill Griffin to a one year, $4.55 million contract, leaving the Vikings with a net lo s Bruce Brown Jr. Jersey of only 1 CFA, giving the formula no choice but to cancel out Hunters contract with Griffins. Now, its fine for a team to conclude that signing a player now is better than getting a comp pick later, but adding to the intrigue are multiple reports that saythe Vikings expectmultiple comp picksto offset the tradeups they made in the draft. Like all humans, I am fallible, and its po sible that I mi sed an additional CFA that departed. (If you think I did, let me know!) Another po sibility is that the Vikings, like many, expected Dalton Risner to sign a contract before the draftbut unbelievably, this is the second straight season he has failed to do so. But as I see it now, the best chance the Vikings could have to get the Hunter 3rd is if Oli Udoh starts the whole season on the offensive line for the Saints. Even more Andre Roberson Jersey daunting would be if Josh Dobbs somehow starts the whole season for the 49ers.This is an interesting part of the entire discu sion about . If they were planning on getting these comp picks in 2025, why did they put themselves in position to potentially lose one? Now, the idea that by now is completely fair. However, they should have had more foresight since Jordan Bowden Jersey he waited a long time to get that contract last season. Now, not all hope is lost for the Vikings. There is a real chance that Udoh or Dobbs play enough to help them qualify for the comp pick formula, especially with the state of the New Orleans Saints offensive line situation being so dire. However, either they know something that the biggest expert doesn't seem to know, or they aren't worried about it.It sure feels like poor roster management by the Vikings with how they have handled things, but we won't know how things shape up until March of 2025.
