Red Sox pitcher Steven Wright was arrested at his Tenne see home over the weekend andcharged with domestic a sault after a dispute with his wife, Shannon.Police records show Wright was taken into custody at 9:25 p.m. Friday at his home outside of Nashville and charged with domestic related a sault, along with prevention Arodys Vizcaino Jersey of a 911 call, the Boston Globe reported.He was released Saturday morning after posting a $5,000 bond.Astatement attributed to the Wright family,released to NBC Sports Boston through Steven Wright's attorney, confirmed that he wascharged with domestic a sault but, per the statement, did not "raise his hand at anyone":"On Friday John Smoltz Jersey night, Steven was arrested at our home following a verbal argument, and the police charged him with domestic a sault. Although he said things he deeply regrets, he did not raise his hand at anyone during the incident, and the situation was purely emotional. We are working together as a family to make our relationships stronger, and we ask that you respect our privacy as we do so."Wright and agentSteve Rathdeclined comment. TheRed Sox addre sed the incident in a statement (via NBC Sports Boston):"We are aware of the incident involving Steven. This is certainly a matter that the Red Sox take very seriously. It is (our)understanding that both local police and Major League Baseball are looking into this and for that reason, the club wont have any further comment at this time."Even if the charges against Dansby Swanson Youth White Jersey Wright ultimately are dropped, following MLB's investigation,he will face the likelihood of a suspension under baseball'sdomestic violence policy enacted in September 2015.According to USA Today, five players have been disciplined under the policy, serving suspensions ranging from 15 to 82 games and all accepting the bans without appeal. Only Braves outfielder Hector Olivera who was suspended 82 games ultimately faced charges.
