In the ’90s, Adidas made a mark with its two-tone shoe design — now counted as a classic. Adidas is bringing this classic design back, albeit in a modern avatar called the P.O.D-S3.1. The shoe comes with what they call a podular design. There are three distinct, identifiable elements on the shoe: Boost heel, EVA front foot and the P.O.D. bridge. The front is made of high rebound EVA foam material that offers soft cushioning.
After first releasing in June, the
adidas shoes 2019—a spiritual successor of sorts to the ultra-popular adidas NMD—is now set to arrive this August in a stately black/white color combination. The new colorways bears many a similarity to the first P.O.D. release, but swaps out the original’s brightly-colored accents for a more toned-down aesthetic. The shoe’s upper arrives in a tonal mesh black, with the only colored accent arriving via white adidas P.O.D branding on the black suede heel patch. A two-piece midsole features white Boost in the heel and a white TPU-style foam in the forefoot, connected together by a black plastic midfoot shank, while a retro-styled white and black outsole design completes the shoe’s look.
Following first teasers and closer looks, adidas‘s new
adidas pod s3.1 finally receives a release date for its “Black/Volt” colorway. The futuristic runner is the latest addition to adidas’s BOOST lineage and features a knitted mesh sock-like upper, welded Three Stripes branding, and EVA foam forefoot and BOOST heel hybrid sole unit. This colorway sees a predominantly black scheme with pops of “Volt” and blue at the arch, heel counter and mid-foot strap.
Adidas Originals has continued dropping new
adidas pod s3.1 black clear orange colorways, and this time it comes in a classic two-tone option. The upper uses a knitted textile construction, reinforced by structural overlays and finished off with a branded heel tab and the iconic Three Stripes mark. The sole, which comes in white, uses EVA and BOOST technology, combining that with a durable rubber outsole. In addition to this release, the brand also released a documentary looking into the making of the shoe, with several prominent adidas employees talking about the process behind its creation, which you can watch below.
