Although we regularly hear of brides finding their dream wedding dress at the first shop they walk into, not everyone’s dress shopping experience is the same. You may have to browse a number of bridal boutiques before you find the dress of your dreams.

But fear not, you will eventually find the perfect dress jewelry and you’ll have a blast trying on all the different styles before it!

As you begin the wedding planning process, shopping for a gown can be one of the most memorable experiences. But sometimes, unnecessary pressure can get in the way of truly enjoying the journey, just like many other aspects that come with planning an important celebration. To help alleviate worry, I’m sharing some insights for those brides who may be in the lingerie early stage of this process, to help you feel more confident in finding your wedding dress.

Your Date – Before making any appointments, have a date set or a general time frame to ensure your gown will be ready before the big day. Some gowns will take up to 6 months to produce and deliver, depending on the designer and any customization. Independent designers and handmade gowns can often have a longer lead new homecoming dresses time than mass-produced designs from large name brands. Also, keep seasonality in mind when considering various fabrics. Satin can be very heavy and I wouldn’t advise it for a summer wedding, but it’s wonderful for a late fall and winter wedding. Summer weddings usually lend themselves to chiffon, tulle or organza which are light and flowy fabrics. Lace and silk are wonderful fabrics all year round.

With a custom-made, high brautjungfernkleider neck, ivory satin dress designed by Marc Bouwer and a floor-length veil, matching bead and sequin cloche hat, trouble couple Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown got married. The reception was in a purple themed balloon tent and included a 18 tier wedding cake.

Super model Cindy Crawford tied the knot in a short lace-trimmed slip dress designed by John Galiano, in a beachy ceremony in the Bahamas. Both bride and groom were shoe-less and very much in love. Until today they still look pretty much the same (beautiful and in love).
