The latest addition to
iconiconsale.com Asics' line of mid-range stability shoes, the GT-2000 9 builds on its predecessor with just a few thoughtful design tweaks, like a softer, more breathable upper and more comfortable ankle cushioning. Provided you get along with its stiff midsole, it's a dependable, tough road shoe that'll handle months of long training runs with aplomb.
Specifically,
Asics Shoes For Men are known for their comfortable fit and support, making them a favorite among casual and distance runners alike. What’s more, Asics conducts rigorous product testing to ensure consistency and quality. In fact, the company’s research department is continually looking for new ways to improve the overall design of its shoes. But with so many high performance shoes to choose from, it can be overwhelming to decide which Asics running shoe is right for you.
The
Asics GT-2000 9 Knit Metropolis/French Blue felt harsh and stiff underfoot—a true Asics’s fan’s Asics. This new shoe still feels responsive, but the touchdown is buttery smooth, thanks to a thick slab of lower-density foam under the heel. It serves to absorb impact forces as you roll through your stride. Once onto your forefoot (and past the 10mm heel-toe offset), a layer of the company’s EVA-based FlyteFoam provides the rest of the cushioning until toe-off. The shoe is stiff, so cushioning feels stable underfoot, but the softer foam helps the stability feel smoother.
Special Price Asics isn’t known for skimping on rubber and the GT-2000 8 is no exception. The high-abrasion compound covers most of the outsole. In the forefoot, it’s divided by three horizontal flex grooves, and Asics used four patches of the AHAR rubber in the heel. We had plenty of traction for road running on wet and dry surfaces. Off-road, it doesn’t excel (AHAR isn’t very sticky and there’s little room between the treads). But for its intended purpose, the outsole is built to last—our sample barely showed wear after a month of testing.
