I'm working in the logistics field for many years already, and yes, many owners I've met or collaborated with are outsourcing their bookkeeping services/team. The reason is simple: you can save a good amount of money to use it in a different department that needs it more. And it's not even only bookkeeping: the safety department, the sales department, the dispatchers and brokers - most of them are usually outsourced. It's true that there might be risks, there are a lot of people who make a business out of scamming companies regarding outsourcing work, like paying them upfront, sketchy payment methods, no guaranteed results, and so on. The bookkeeping team in our company is 90% outsourced, and we're lucky to have found a great and loyal team in Eastern Europe who have been working with us for years - payroll, paystub maker, invoicing, and many other services we would probably overpay for in the USA.
