LONDON -- Arsenal and Manchester United played out a dour 0-0 draw that frustrated both teams while Liverpool snatched a last-minute 3-2 victory at Fulham to return to the title Premier League race on Wednesday. Asics Gel Saga White . Fourth-place Liverpool came from behind twice to maintain its three-point lead over Tottenham, which won 4-0 at Newcastle. Liverpools last-gasp win, secured by a Steven Gerrard penalty, left Brendan Rodgers side just four points behind league leader Chelsea. Arsenal missed the chance to go top after Chelseas 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday, and remains a point behind in second place. After being thrashed 5-1 at Anfield on Saturday, Arsenal looked focused but lacked a cutting edge up front. "Overall, we could have won it. It was a game of few chances," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said. "In the end, either side could have won 1-0. Manchester United are a good team, so when you go forward they can catch you." Robin van Persie had Uniteds best chances on his return to Arsenal, but failed to make the most of a one-on-one in the early stages and then saw a late header saved by Wojciech Szczesny. The result, combined with Liverpools win, further damaged Uniteds ambition as the Red Devils are now 11 points behind the Champions League places. "I see it as a positive result, its a hard place to come and theyve had a great season up to now," United manager David Moyes said, having failed again in his bid to secure a first away win against a top-four club as a manager. "Id have liked to have won tonight, but there were a lot of good things to come out of it." Manchester City is three points behind Chelsea in third place after its dress rehearsal of the League Cup final against Sunderland was postponed because of bad weather. Evertons game against Crystal Palace was also called off because of stormy conditions in northwest England. Liverpool, which has not lost in the league since late December, had to wait until the last minute to earn a dramatic win at Craven Cottage. "Were going to keep pushing. Weve shown enough times were a very good side," Rodgers said. "Were chasing, other teams are still ahead of us. We need some of them to drop points. We know we still have Man City and Chelsea to play at home. Well take it game by game. Im enjoying as a coach watching the team improve." Kolo Toures own goal gave Fulham the lead before Daniel Sturridge levelled following Gerrards superb pass. Kieran Richardson then made the most of poor defending by Martin Skrtel but Philippe Coutinho equalised from 20 yards before Gerrards penalty. Elsewhere, Stoke drew 1-1 with Swansea. Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice as Tottenham thrashed Newcastle at St. James Park to maintain its push for a Champions League spot. It was Newcastles fourth straight home defeat for the first time in the Premier League era. Brazil midfielder Paulinho and Nacer Chadli completed the rout for Spurs. Tottenham stays fifth, three points behind Liverpool. "Adebayor hasnt really surprised me because Ive seen him be fantastic for many clubs hes played for," Spurs manager Tim Sherwood said. "Im delighted hes in such great form. His concentration levels and the way he trains is magnificent, hes a good example to all young players, especially at our club." Asics Gel Lyte iii White . SAN ANTONIO -- Steven Bowditch held on to win the Texas Open in windy conditions Sunday for his first PGA Tour victory and a spot in the Masters. The 30-year-old Australian bogeyed the par-5 18th for a 4-over 76 for a one-stroke victory. "Im over the moon. I really cant believe it," said Bowditch, who attempted suicide in 2006 and has fought depression throughout his career. It was the highest closing score by a winner since Vijay Singh finished with a 4-over 76 in the 2004 PGA Championship, and the highest in a non-major since Fred Couples had a 5-over 77 in the 1983 Kemper Open. Bowditch finished at 8-under 280 at TPC San Antonio and earned $1,116,000. "Every time I got out of check, looking ahead to the Masters and winning golf events and making my speeches before I was finished, I had to pull myself in check every time," said Bowditch, wearing a green shirt. "And it happened a lot today." Bowditch, based in Dallas, entered the week 339th in the world and had only two top-10 finishes in eight years on the tour. He won once on the Australasian circuit and twice on the Web.Com Tour. "Hes been a battler. Hes gone through a lot in his life," said John Senden, a fellow Australian who won the Valspar Championship two weeks ago. Senden waited about an hour after his round to shake Bowditchs hand. "That last putt wasnt his best, but to finish it off he was as coool as a cucumber really," Senden said. Cheap Asics Gel Lyte III. "Im proud to be his mate." Will MacKenzie and Daniel Summerhays tied for second. MacKenzie shot 70, and Summerhays had a 71. Calgarys Stephen Ames was the top Canadian. Ames shot a 74 to finish in a tie for 16th place. Chesson Hadley and Ryan Palmer missed chances to get into the Masters through the top 50 in the world ranking. Hadley, the Puerto Rico Open winner, needed at least a sixth-place finish, but closed with an 80 to tie for 56th at 5 over. Palmer needed a top-three finish and had an 82 to also tie for 56th. Bowditch played the front nine in 3-over 39, making a double bogey on the par-4 fourth. He countered a bogey on the par-3 13th with a birdie on the par-5 14th and made three pars before missing a 3-foot par putt and settling for a bogey on 18. On the par-3 16th, he got up-and-down after missing the green. He pushed his drive on the par-4 17th, hit his approach on the green and two-putted, then pulled his tee shot left on 18, recovered with a shot to the fairway and reached the green in three. "I just drew back on some experience," Bowditch said. MacKenzie made a 13-foot birdie putt on the 17th to pull within a stroke of Bowditch, but the Australian tapped in from 2 feet for his birdie at No. 14 to push the advantage back to two. Matt Kuchar and Andrew Loupe shot 75s to tie for fourth at 6-under.
