I recently installed Frigidaire Professional double wall oven PCWD3080AFA which overall I’m loving so far. They heat evenly and hold true temp; I’m easy to please after a history of awful ovens. Steam and air fry modes, roller racks and general good looks are all icing on the cake. BUT one thing is bothering me, and I’m finding it impossible to get a convincing response from Frigidaire:

In both Bake and Convection Bake modes, the convection fans run intermittently. This is counter to my intuition as well as the manual, which states that Bake provides gentle heat from below and Convection runs the fans continuously.

Does this make sense? Does anyone have these ovens or similar within the Frigidaire family to confirm what theirs do? Once preheated, the fans are barely on, a few seconds here and there as the ovens maintain temp.

One rep did say that this is working as designed and that the difference between the two modes is whether or not the broil element is being used. But based on my observations with an IR thermometer on the elements this does not appear to be true. The elements do not appear to be used with either mode, but they are used with Convection Roast.

I’m hesitant to call for service without knowing for certain that these aren’t working as intended. Input/advice welcome.
