Rather than overhaul the design, the team changed only a few basic elements for the Nike Air Monarch II, including updating some internal construction, adding traction patterns and a pivot point in the outsole for rotation and adding textures in areas that wrinkled.

Out of thousands of entries from the workshop series, a judging panel that included Nike Dunk Low Women designers and city ambassadors selected 18 finalists (three from each city).
