Because the late 1980s, the bande has experienced periodic revivals, all which have usually originated from haute couture and have sometimes trickled through to mainstream style. These revivals concentrate on the corset as an product of outerwear rather than under garments. The strongest of these revivals was seen in the Fall months 2001 fashion collections as well as coincided with the release from the film Moulin Rouge!; costumes featured corset dress because characteristic of the era.
