1. According to the actual product demand, the spring material is selected. The spring material should generally have high elastic limit, fatigue limit, impact toughness and good heat treatment performance. Carbon spring steel and alloy spring steel are commonly used. Stainless spring steel and copper alloys, nickel alloys and rubber;
2. According to the product requirements, determine the inner and outer diameter of the spring, the number of effective turns, and the range of values of the wire diameter;
3. Substitute the relevant parameters into the design parameter formula:
1) OD=ID+d (OD: outside diameter; ID=inside diameter; Dm=mean diameter; d=wire diameter)
2) F=Gd4*f/8Dm3Nact (F= load; G=gravity; f=deflection; Nact=active number of coil)
3) F'=F/f (F'=Spring rate)
