Japanese clothing brand nonnative is no stranger to Vans Authentic Sale collaborations, having worked with Vans before for two special Vans SK8-His back in January. Now, the pair of collaborative partners are amalgamating again — and they’re bringing their familiar collaborative aesthetic to a new silhouette, the Vans Old Skool. Utilizing the same details from the previous collaboration, the shoe arrives in a pair of luxurious colors — brown and black — both constructed of an extra-shaggy suede. Gone are the laces, both replaced by a silver zipper on the throat with threaded moccasin-style detailing arriving in place of the eyelets. For a finishing touch — and a nod to classic Vans styling — the liner of both shoes is dressed in a classic checkerboard pattern.

After dropping two collaborations as part of their Spring/Summer offerings, Vans Disney Sale is linking back up with long-time creative partner Vans to release more special footwear for their Fall/Winter collection. The new capsule calls upon the Sid Pro — a under-the-radar Vans silhouette that was originally produced in 1995 as a casual shoe — to serve as the centerpiece, and offers four fresh takes: a standout “Dalmatian,” a seasonal burnt orange, a classic black, and a luxurious purple. Each sneaker boasts a premium suede upper with white contrast stitching and a classic Vans logo on the quarter panel. Special details arrive via an embroidered Olde English Supreme tongue logo and a custom heel label, while a dual-striped white midsole and traditional vulcanized Vans waffle outsole round off the classic look. The collaborative kicks are set to release at Supreme locations and on their webstore October 4th, while Japanese customers will have to wait until the 6th for their drop.

Helmed by Keizo Vans Old Skool Sale, the Nepenthes umbrella has grown rapidly to encompass notable labels like Engineered Garments, AiE, South2West8, and many others. Imbuing a characteristic Japanese craftsmanship in their designs, each label has presented their own unique interpretation of popular fashion subcultures. It has surely been a busy year for the umbrella and its cohorts — with Daiki Suzuki’s EG gearing up to release their UltraBOOST and Hoka One One silhouette — so Needles’ upcoming collaborative capsule with Vans has been a long time coming. Using the Vans Vault Slip-Ons as their base for transformation, Needles has given the shoe a smart metallic detailing that calls back to the iconic horse bit loafer. In its three colorways of black, green, and purple, the entire upper is embellished with a textural velvet placed on top of a blacked out midsole.
