It’s time for our weekly look at the matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and their upcoming opponents. This week it’s the Seattle Seahawks. Since Seattle used to reside in the AFC http://www.minnesotavikingsteamonline.com/trae-waynes-jersey , these two conference foes haven’t faced off as often as you might think over the years, despite some very notable recent meetings.Once again, the numbers provided in this piece are all provided by the fine folks at Pro Football Reference.Total Games Between the Seahawks and Vikings: 15All-Time Record: Seahawks, 9-5 regular season, 1-0 postseasonTotal Vikings Points Scored Womens Andrew Sendejo Jersey , Head-to-Head: 333 (22.2 points/game)Total Seahawks Points Scored, Head-to-Head: 384 (24.0 points/game)Longest Vikings Winning Streak vs. Seahawks: 2 (22 October 2006 - 22 November 2009)Longest Seahawks Winning Streak vs. Vikings: 4 (4 November 2012 - 10 January 2016)Most Recent Vikings Victory in Seattle: 22 October 2006 (Final score 31-13)Most Recent Seahawks Victory in Seattle: 17 November 2013 (Final score 41-20)Biggest Vikings Victory in Seattle: 18 points, 22 October 2006 (Final score 31-13)Biggest Seahawks Victory in Seattle: 25 points, 29 September 2002 (Final score 48-23)Current Win Streak: Seahawks, 4 gamesA few notes about this series of games:The Seahawks are currently enjoying the longest winning streak in the history of this matchup http://www.minnesotavikingsteamonline.com/xavier-rhodes-jersey , winning the last four contests between the two teams. It has been just over nine years since the Vikings were victorious against the Seahawks in a 35-9 home rout led by Brett Favre. You might remember the last time these two teams saw each other. It was really cold, it was the playoffs, and...you know what? I don’t want to talk about that game anymore. We all know how it ended. Technically the last time these two teams played each other was Week 3 of the 2018 preseason. THAT game was fun! It was a thrilling 21-20 victory for the Vikings back in August. Kyle Sloter threw an incredible touchdown pass to Chad Beebe and then Jake Wieneke scored on the two-point conversion with under a minute left. That preseason comeback win TOTALLY overshadows some meaningless Wild Card game a few years back, right? The last two times these teams met in Seattle back in 2013, they were much further apart in the standings than they are in 2018. The lowly 2-7 Vikings were in the middle of Leslie Frazier’s death march while the 9-1 Seahawks were on their way to a Super Bowl title. The results were predictable: a 41-20 Seattle beatdown where the Vikings lost four turnovers and Russell Wilson only had to throw 18 passes to get to 230 yards and two scores. Vikings fans were treated to interceptions by both Christian Ponder AND Matt Cassel that day. But at least they held Percy Harvin to one reception for 17 yards in his first game against the Vikings after being traded. And Blair Walsh made all four of his kicks that day! (Bet you didn’t think that’s how Walsh was going to be mentioned in this post Authentic Kirk Cousins Jersey , did you?)We’re pretty sure Monday night’s game will be closer than the last contest these two teams played in Seattle, especially with so much on the line for both teams. Hopefully the Vikings can reverse their recent trend against the Seahawks and take control of the NFC Wild Card race. The Eagles made it a game in the second half, but the Vikings held off Philadelphia’s charge. The Eagles’ 23-21 loss to the Vikings dropped the defending Super Bowl champions to 2-3. The Eagles lost only three games all of last season. Minnesota improved to 2-2-1.Adam Thielen recovered the onside kick with 1:07 remaining to preserve the Vikings’ win.The Eagles cut it to 20-14 with 12:05 remaining on Wendall Smallwood’s 12-yard touchdown catch from Carson Wentz and a run by Smallwood on the two-point conversion. But the Vikings answered with a 55-yard drive that resulted in a 52-yard Dan Bailey field goal.Bailey missed field goals of 28 and 45 yards and made a 37-yarder.The Eagles needed only 98 seconds to draw back within one score as Wentz found Zach Ertz for a 7-yard touchdown with 1:09 left. But Philadelphia, out of timeouts, needed the onside kick to have a chance for a miracle comeback. The Vikings benefited from a questionable roughing the passer call on Michael Bennett late in the second quarter. FOX rules analyst Mike Pereira disagreed with the call Authentic Mike Hughes Jersey , which negated Bennett鈥檚 8-yard sack.It appeared Bennett hit Cousins above the knee first and then slid down.Instead of third-and-14 at the Philadelphia 31, the Vikings got a first down at the 11. Two plays later, Cousins found Thielen for a 3-yard touchdown. Minnesota led 17-3 at halftime.Thielen set an NFL record with his fifth consecutive 100-yard game to start a season. He finished with 116 yards on seven catches.Cousins went 30-of-37 for 301 yards and the touchdown to Theilen.Wentz was 24-of-35 for 311 yards and two touchdowns. Ertz caught 10 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. Seven other players caught passes.
