If you want to retrieve your mails from the server, then IMAP becomes your most trusted method. It doesn’t matter what kind of server or application you are using, the server and the port settings will not change.
Configuration settings:
Incoming Server settings
• The server name should be imap.aol.com
• Port settings will be IMAP-993-SSL
Outgoing server settings
• The server hostname will be smtp.verizon.net
• Port settings to be SMTP-465-SSL
