It appears he’s headed for the IR.<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="E7w3Hh"><hr class="p-entry-hr" id="NIOFg1">Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the San Francisco 49ers swing offensive tackle Shon Coleman suffered a dislocated ankle last night in their preseason game and his recovery is expected to be several months. Nobody is going to confuse Coleman with Joe Staley, but he is far and away the third-best tackle on the roster. The 49ers have said that Coleman’s season is over, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.The offense struggled to be consistent with the likes of Willie Beavers and Daniel Brunskill on the field. If it weren’t for a couple of big plays, I’m not sure the touchdowns would have happened. According to NBC Sports Matt Maiocco, Garry Gilliam, who served in that role the past two seasons Adrian Colbert Jersey , remains a free agent and a logical option. He’s received interest/offers from multiple teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Arizona Cardinals. Tevin Coleman arrived in a crowded backfield in San Francisco this offseason, with last year’s leading rusher Matt Breida returning and last year’s free agent signing Jerick McKinnon expected to return after missing the whole season. But Coleman is expected to move to the head of the line.Matt Maiocco of NBCSportsBayArea.com writes that Coleman is likely to get the most carries and the most catches of all the 49ers’ running backs this season.Coleman can take an early lead because McKinnon is still recovering from last year’s knee injury, Breida has a pectoral injury and the next running back on the depth chart, Raheem Mostert, recovering from surgery for a broken arm. That gives Coleman the majority of the first-team snaps in Organized Team Activities.And it appears that Coleman will get the majority of the first-team work when the season starts.
