Advertising is an important aspect of growing a business of any kind. An innovative advertising campaign can do wonders for building a brand and getting more exposure. In years past, these advertising campaigns were in the form of T.V ads and newspaper campaigns. Although this move was a highly effective method, things changed with the advent of mobile applications and social media.
This was a game-changer in many aspects. Mobile app technology provided entrepreneurs with an unprecedented way of connecting with their customer base. All of a sudden, advertising took on a much more personal approach. A new type of advertising model came into existence - mobile app marketing.

What is Mobile App Marketing?
Mobile app marketing is the term reserved for marketing techniques that are aimed towards mobile users usually through the use of in-app messages, ads, and push notifications. What makes mobile app marketing strategies stand out among the other types of marketing is that it can be used to target users individually.
Whereas traditional forms of marketing strategies take a one-fit-for-all approach, mobile app marketing tries to target the demographics that make the most sense for them. Why waste valuable time, money and effort running an elaborate advertising campaign that might fall on deaf ears when you can take a more sensible approach that allows you to target customers who will be more inclined to avail your services?

Target Based Approach
Effective mobile advertising means understanding your mobile audience and designing content with the end audience in mind.
Understanding your audience is the first step to any marketing strategy. Who are your customers? What’s their age group, gender, socio-economic background? Do the necessary research into their job description, main sources of information, goals, preferred type of content, or modes of shopping, etc. It is much more effective in the long run to follow a marketing approach that takes these criteria into account.
If you’re a fashion brand, you might want to redirect most of your resources to the younger generation instead of wasting time on older people who rarely, if ever, use online shopping sites. Or if you’re a healthcare provider, it makes more sense to target the senior audience who have a higher level of concern about such issues.
Knowing your main target audience lets you run an effective and result yielding marketing campaign.
