It’s just a matter of time until you accidentally close an Office application without saving its content. Or else, the computer or app may crash unexpectedly. However, when the unexpected happens, not everything is lost. Whether you’re using a Microsoft Office 365 subscription or standalone version of Office 2019, Office 2016, or earlier, there’s an excellent chance to recover your work. Many apps offer a few ways to recover unsaved documents.

Retrieving data/document through recovery mode

1. First of all, open your Word or other Office app in which you were working.
2. Here you have to create a plain document.
3. While making a blank document, look for the document recovery segment at the left side panel.
4. Tap on the arrow button showing downward at the unsaved file/document, and now tap on the “Save As” button.
5. Now you have to select a targeted folder to get back your unsaved data.
6. Hit on the “Save” button to proceed.
