What Does Error Code -6000, -82 Mean?
Based on Intuit,
QuickBooks Error 6000 82: “An error occurred when attempting to open the file” or “An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to access the company file” indicates that QuickBooks can’t access the company file, which can be found on another computer. This error code occurs in multi-user environments.
There are certain troubleshooting steps to solve this error which can be discussed at length when you look at the Intuit knowledge base article linked below. A number of these steps involve checking the Hosting setting. To verify the Hosting setting, press F2 while QuickBooks is running to display the merchandise Information window. The Local Server Information block shows the Hosting setting in the lower left of the window.

Gah. No disabling RRAS failed to resolve this matter. Disabling SEP from the server into the Task tray fixed it. QB 2010.
