How hard was it to quit drinking for a year? It was a bitch. But on that 365th day, I decided to go for one more day. Then the next day I do the same thing and try to stay sober another day. And yet again the next day I did the same. The more times I did that, the easier it got. That was 24 years ago. I still get up evey day and keep going day by day. I've done that every day since Halloween 1993, the last time I had a drink. Actually, it wasn't such a bitch after all. I was just terrified I'd drink agsin and that helped motivate me to keep going. The fear was the bitch.

Pretty hard indeed. I used to drink and smoke pretty heavily and simply one day decided to quit. Simply check out this national addiction hotline https://addictionresource.com/drug-rehab/free-rehabs/ and be sure you are aware of all stages and all possible options. Choose the one that will suit you the most and go ahead. Believe me there is nothing special in drinking or smoking at all. It is much better to be healthy. Hope it can help
