Once you know what shape your face is, try out a few styles from your category, or design your own based on your main facial features.

An oval face is wider than it is long, with a forehead and jaw roughly the same width and a slightly rounded chin. Tight retro curls, a side swept straight fringe or big, bouncy curls for longer hair work best with this style, as it brings some width and balance to your face. Choosing a nice, volumous hairstyle and long chunky earrings can do wonders for an oval face.

If you have a diamond shaped face, it will look long and narrow, with your cheekbones being the widest aspect and featuring a pointy chin. This face shape works best with slicked back styles that avoid hair touching your face. A diamond face can start to look very narrow when there’s lots of hair surrounding it, so try pushing it back shoulder veils – either by tying it up or leaving it loose and pinning the front behind your ears. Ponytails and updo’s are great for diamond shaped faces, along with deep side partings and light, off-centre bangs that can be pinned back.

High ponytails, loose hair with lots of pulled up layers or half up styles with volume at the crown are all perfect.
