Adidas and Hender Scheme have come together

In an unprecedented show of cooperation, Adidas and Hender Scheme have come together on a properly-sanctioned assortment of Adidas sneakers both old and new, including the adidas superstar online, Micropacer, and NMD R1, all given the full-on Hender Scheme treatment. In the case of the Superstar and Micropacer, these are styles that Hender Scheme already made—only without the logos and stripes—before it got the co-sign from the Three Stripes itself. The only difference now is that Adidas's branding is more prevalent on the sneakers. The NMD R1, though, is a new challenge. The original version features two modern Adidas technologies, Primeknit and Boost. Replacing them both with leather looks beautiful, but might be lacking in the comfort department.

That all changes with the Hender Scheme x adidas Originals collaboration, as the brand has officially partnered with the three stripes for an insane three shoe collection featuring the adidas NMD, the adidas superstar slip-on, and the adidas Micropacer. All three styles will be made from natural leather that will darken and evolve the more it's worn. And like all Hender Scheme shoes, the new sneakers will be handcrafted in Tokyo in extremely limited quantities and finished with replaceable, nail-in leather soles. There's no Boost in the NMD, no pedometer on the Micropacer. Though the shoes that serve as inspiration were all the height of technological innovation for their respective eras, this is an entirely different breed of Adidas.

The Bavarian-based company is celebrating Oktoberfest in style this year, bringing back its classic lifestyle model, the adidas superstar herren, but with a couple of slight alterations for a somewhat sloppier audience. Aesthetically, the brown-and-gold Munchen Oktoberfest are apparently inspired by traditional Bavarian calfskin pants, featuring rich embroidery to match your lederhosen and an inner lining with a red-and-white micro-check tablecloth pattern, which evokes that special alpine sense. Pragmatically, they're made from fine leather with "DBPR" coating, which, according to Adidas, makes the trainers durably beer- and puke-resistant. Gotta love that smart German engineering.
