Be careful what you wish for.
First of all were did you hear these rumors? Every time
I asked a CSR or Tech person about plans for a new box they have no info.
Secondly there is no competition with Rogers,if we
could choose between Rogers or Cogeco in our city
things might actually change for the better,as there
would be actual competition for Customers & Cogeco would have to keep up
Do you really believe that the Nextbox 3.0 would be free of problems?
The more complex something is the greater potential for problems. The 6412 & 6416 Motorola had issues, & the Pace RNG200N had it's share of issues as well,&
they fixed most of them with Software & Firmware updates.
As I mentioned in a previous post they recently
released a Firmware Update to the Pace RNG200N...
34.23. Which they spent over a year working on. It's
also not always the S/W or F/W that's at fault,I have had
problems clear up after Cogeco obviously fixed it from
there end or in the actual city were you live. It can also
be the signal to your box,I have cleared up problems
just by power cycling the box.
I would rather have 2 Pace RNG200N boxes with 4
tuners,as these boxes have been on the market for
sometime now,& they have had a chance to fix the
problems. My Pace RNG200N is working great.
So what quirks are you getting?
